How Does The TGFC Triage Clinic Work?

The TGFC triage clinic gives eligible Senior and Reserve players early injury advice during the football season. It helps players decide whether they can keep training, modify load, start treatment, or book a fuller physiotherapy assessment.

This free club-based service forms part of the PhysioWorks sponsorship and TGFC player support program. Players outside these groups can book at Ashgrove PhysioWorks and may use the TGFC player discount where eligible.

What Injuries Do Football Players Commonly Need Help With?

Football places high demands on sprinting, kicking, cutting, landing and contact. Players commonly need help with ACL injuries, ankle sprains, hamstring strains, groin pain, knee pain and concussion management.

When should you book a full appointment?

Book a clinic appointment if pain lasts more than a few days, swelling is present, running feels limited, you cannot kick normally, or you are unsure whether it is safe to return to training or match play.

Injury Prevention For TGFC Players

PhysioWorks provides a free sports injury risk assessment for Senior and Reserve teams as part of the TGFC sponsorship package. The aim is to reduce injury risk, improve movement quality and support better football performance.

Football Australia now promotes Football Australia Perform+ as its injury prevention program. FIFA also provides information about the FIFA 11+ warm-up program for football players.

Player Discount At Ashgrove PhysioWorks

PhysioWorks offers discounted treatment for The Gap Football Club players at Ashgrove PhysioWorks when they present their TGFC membership card. Clinic hours run Monday to Saturday.

Sports Insurance And Referral Support

Player insurance details can change between seasons, so TGFC players should confirm current cover through their club or football registration pathway. You can also read more on our sports insurance information page.

If your injury needs medical review, your physiotherapist may recommend referral to a sports physician, orthopaedic surgeon or radiology provider.

What Should TGFC Players Do Next?

If you are injured, unsure about training, or want a return-to-play plan, book with Ashgrove PhysioWorks. Bring your TGFC membership card and explain when the injury happened, what makes it worse, and your next match or training goal.
