Zoe Russell is an APA Sports & Exercise Physiotherapist and APA Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist who joined the PhysioWorks team in 2008.
Zoe is one of only a few physiotherapists in Australia who is recognised by the Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA) as both a Titled Sports & Exercise Physiotherapist, plus a Titled Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist. Zoe holds an undergraduate dual-degree Bachelor of Physiotherapy and Exercise Science. She has subsequently completed her postgraduate Master’s qualifications in both Sports and Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy. Zoe is currently undertaking the Physiotherapy Specialisation (FACP) training program in Sports & Exercise Physiotherapy.
As one of Zoe’s patients, you’ll find her a very friendly physiotherapist who will focus your injury management by combining her knowledge acquired from both Physiotherapy and Exercise Science. This approach provides you with a multifaceted approach to treating your injury, performance and preventing injury recurrence.
Her experience and knowledge of sporting biomechanics and the demands of both elite and recreational sporting pursuits, allow her to diagnose, treat and help you recover more quickly! Zoe has an interest in treating lower limb (hip, knee and ankle) soft tissue, joint and tendon injuries as well as post-surgical rehabilitation of the hip, knee and ankle.

Titled APA Sports & Exercise Physiotherapist or Titled APA Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist is protected by the APA for physiotherapists who have completed postgraduate studies and fulfilled the rigorous criteria established by the APA. Titled Physiotherapists have proven themselves as highly skilled and knowledgeable practitioners, which provides you, the patient, with the confidence that you will receive high-quality, evidence-based care.
Zoe is a highly experienced Sports & Exercise Physiotherapist and combines her clinical work at PhysioWorks with her work with elite sports teams.

Zoe was a Sports & Exercise Physiotherapist for the 2018 Commonwealth Games.
Personal Athletic Experience
Zoe’s experience is not only limited to her role as a Sports & Exercise Physiotherapist! Zoe is also a former National level Indoor Netball player, who has represented both Queensland and Australia. When she is not at PhysioWorks, Zoe enjoys an active lifestyle, in addition to her Netball commitments for Queensland and Australia, Zoe also swims, attends the gym, and plays several recreational sports.
