When Should You See a Physiotherapist?

If you’re experiencing persistent pain, reduced mobility, or have sustained an injury, it’s time to see a physiotherapist. Early intervention can prevent your condition from worsening.

When to seek physiotherapy

X-rays, Ultrasound Scans, MRI and Sick Leave Certificates

Your physiotherapist can refer you for diagnostic imaging, including X-rays, Ultrasound Scans, and MRIs if necessary. Sick leave certificates for injuries covered under the FairWork Act are also available at your physiotherapist’s discretion.

Referrals to Specialists

You may require surgery or another treatment. In that case, your physiotherapist will promptly refer you to a trusted team of leading doctors, sports physicians, surgeons, radiologists, and other health professionals. PhysioWorks has developed an excellent working partnership with these professionals over the past 30+ years. The goal is to get you back to sports, work, or play quickly.

What to Do?

If you’re unsure whether physiotherapy can assist you, our receptionists can address most of your queries. Typically, a doctor’s referral is not necessary. We will inform you if your condition requires a referral to another health professional.
