Zoe Russell is an APA Sports and APA Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist who joined the PhysioWorks team in 2008. An experienced Sports Physiotherapist, Zoe has completed a postgraduate Masters in Sports and Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy in addition to her undergraduate dual degree qualifications in Physiotherapy and Exercise Science. Zoe is recognised by the Australian Physiotherapy Association as a Titled Sports and Titled Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist.
Zoe is a friendly Physiotherapist who focuses her injury management by combining her Physiotherapy and Exercise Science knowledge to provide a multifaceted approach to treating your injury, performance and preventing injury recurrence. Her experience and knowledge of sporting biomechanics and the demands of both elite and recreational sporting pursuits, allows her to diagnose, treat and help you recover more quickly! Zoe has an interest in treating lower limb (hip, knee and ankle) soft tissue, joint and tendon injuries as well as post-surgical rehabilitation of the hip, knee and ankle.

Zoe is a highly experienced Sports Physiotherapist and combines her clinical work at PhysioWorks with her work with elite sports teams.

Zoe has recently been appointed as a Sports Physiotherapist for the 2018 Commonwealth Games. Additionally, Zoe is currently undertaking the Physiotherapy Specialisation training program in Sports Physiotherapy.
Personal Athletic Experience
Zoe’s experience is not only limited to her role as a Sports Physiotherapist! Zoe is also a former National level Indoor Netball player, who has represented both Queensland and Australia. When she is not at PhysioWorks, Zoe enjoys an active lifestyle, in addition to her Netball commitments for Queensland and Australia, Zoe also swims, attends the gym, and plays a number of recreational sports.

What is an APA Sports and Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist Title?
A physiotherapist is only entitled to use the APA Sports Physiotherapist or APA Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist title, after completion of a Masters Degree in the field of Sports or Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy. Additionally, a Physiotherapist must satisfy the additional requirements of the Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA).
