I’ve come from a sports heavy youth and is something that’s carried through well into my adult life. Running has been something that started with a track and cross-country background. Eventually, I made the shift to Triathlon and distance events. It was during this time I was lucky enough to find a way to marry my sporting interests with my Podiatry studies.
Helping people of all abilities stay active is very rewarding. As well as working with professional runners and footballers, I also love working with young athletes and anyone interested in increasing their activity, whether that’s walking, running or playing a new sport.
How I Stay Active
I have completed a number of half and full Ironman distance races. I’m also currently training for my 7th marathon, still chasing that elusive sub-three hour. Throughout high school, I played rep Rugby League and Touch Football.
When I’m not playing a sport, you’ll find me in a record store, questionably shooting film or holed up with a filter coffee.
Education & Qualifications
I graduated from QUT in 2015 and had the benefit of working as a Podiatrist in both inner-city Brisbane and Central Queensland. This was a great period of time to get a feel for the profession and where my interests lay.
During my time practising, I’ve also been able to run the design and manufacturing process of an orthotic lab. I have worked with a number of running brands on the development and testing of footwear, delivering tech talks for other allied health professionals and clubs.
I am looking forward to working towards my Australian Podiatry Association Specialist Sports Podiatrist Qualification in the near future.
