Emma Barnes graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours) from the University of Newcastle. She worked as a Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist and Pilates instructor in Newcastle before moving to Brisbane and joining the team at PhysioWorks.
Emma spent a number of years working alongside soccer and AFL teams as a Sports Trainer. Emma has completed the FIFA Diploma of Sports Medicine, APPI Pilates Matwork Level 1, APPI Pilates Equipment Level 1, STOPS low back pain course, Rocktape Kinesiology course and is a qualified Level 1 Sports Trainer. She thoroughly enjoys treating sporting injuries and helping people recover after joint surgery.
Emma is also interested in spinal pain, women’s health and Pilates, and has worked within the private hospital system, gaining experience in post-operative rehabilitation and chest physiotherapy.
Outside of work, Emma enjoys spending time with family and friends, going to the gym and being outdoors.
