Why Should You Enjoy the PhysioWorks Difference?
Friendly & Caring Service
The PhysioWorks team stands out for their exceptional friendliness and care as health professionals. Recognising that pain or injury can diminish one’s patience, we have diligently trained our healthcare team to consistently welcome and attend to you with the same warmth and consideration they would extend to a family member or a cherished friend.
How Long is Your Physiotherapy Appointment?
Please allocate 45 to 60 minutes for your initial physiotherapy session. Subsequent treatments typically range from 30 to 60 minutes. Your physiotherapist will notify you if additional or shorter durations are necessary. You may need a more extended consultation if complex or multiple regions require attention. Our receptionist will gladly schedule an appointment that aligns with your specific clinical requirements.
Thorough & Unrushed
We believe in providing everyone with individualised professional care, so we schedule longer initial appointments. This additional time ensures that your first visit is unhurried and includes a comprehensive and personalised assessment of your injury or problem. The extra time allows us to discuss your short, medium, and long-term goals and treatment options before beginning your rehabilitation.
Your PhysioWorks healthcare practitioner will impress you as a great listener and an exceptional treatment planner dedicated to achieving efficient and effective treatment outcomes for you. After all, you have chosen to see us because of our commitment to your well-being.
What is the Aim of Your Initial Consultation?
During the initial consultation, we aim to dedicate more time than most physiotherapists to conduct a comprehensive assessment. By the end of this consultation, we will actively determine and communicate the following to you:
- The specific nature of your problem
- The underlying causes of your pain or dysfunction
- The appropriate measures you can take to address and correct it
- An estimated recovery timeline
- Strategies to prevent future occurrences.
Your Tailored Treatment Plan
Based on your examination, your physiotherapist will craft a customised treatment program exclusively for you. This program may encompass hands-on therapy, including joint manipulation, mobilisation, or massage. Additionally, you can expect a wealth of beneficial advice and home exercises. We may also utilise other technology or treatment tools depending on your specific needs.
As highly-trained exercise prescribers, your physiotherapist will guide you through targeted exercises and stretches to be performed at home, expediting your recovery. You will also receive valuable advice on pain management, such as optimal resting positions or the appropriate use of heat or ice and their recommended durations. Since your age, gender, sport, work requirements, and lifestyle play a role, we prioritise personalised therapies over generic approaches, as they yield superior results.
As a result, you can anticipate swift pain reduction, accelerated natural healing, and a triumphant return to your entire range of activities, whether they be work-related or sports-related, at the earliest possible time.
What About Private Health Insurance?
All higher-table private health insurance schemes offer rebates for some treatment costs. Your specific coverage will determine the extent of the private health insurance rebates, which can vary significantly.
What is HICAPS?
PhysioWorks actively integrates with the HICAPS electronic health fund system, enabling you to claim your rebate during your treatment session promptly. Present your health insurance card to our receptionist to avail of this service.
Do You Need a Referral to Consult a Physiotherapist?
In private practice, you do not need a doctor’s referral to see a physiotherapist unless you make a work injury claim (e.g., Workcover) or other insurance claims. However, patients under the Department of Veterans Affairs or Medicare will require a doctor’s referral. Suppose you have been involved in a motor vehicle accident or intend to have your treatment funded by an insurance company. In that case, it is advisable to consult your GP for a referral as a good practice.
